Highest number of applications for places in Year 7 next year since 2005!

Indoor Athletics Championship

On Thursday 25th June, we waited with baited breath for 100 Year 5 pupils from 9 of our primary feeder schools to compete in our annual Indoor Athletics Championship. The pupils from St Brigid’s, St Columba’s, St John Fisher, St Joseph’s, St James, Our Lady and St Rose of Lima, St Mary’s, St Paul’s and St Edward’s were greeted by former year 7 pupils.

Before the event started the competition was heating up, as team talks were underway and final instructions were given to the competitors. The St John Fisher team were feeling the pressure as 2008 winners but could they do it again this year and maintain the title? All is to be revealed.

There was a nervous wait as Mr Nolan totalled up the results, and finishing in 3rd place were St James, in 2nd place Mary’s and in 1st place St Joseph’s!

A huge thank you should go to all our Primary colleagues and pupils who were fantastic and a big thank you to all the staff and pupils at St Thomas Aquinas School for all their help and support.
