Sports Results (Week Beginning 28th June)

Primary Indoor Athletics Championships

On Wednesday June 30, we waited with baited breath for 100 Year 5 pupils from 9 of our primary feeder schools to compete in our annual Indoor Athletics Championship. The pupils from St Brigid's, St Columba's, St John Fisher, St James', Our Lady and St Rose of Lima, St Mary's, St Paul's, St Peter's and St Edward's were greeted by former year 7 pupils.

Before the event started the competition was heating up as team talks were underway and final instructions were given to the competitors. High standards have been set over the last few years and tension was rising!

There was a nervous wait as Mr Nolan totalled up the results but finishing in joint 3rd place were St Brigid's and St John Fisher, in 2nd place St Edward's and in 1st place St Mary's!

It was a really close competition this year so well done to everyone.

A huge thank you should go to all our Primary colleagues and pupils who were fantastic and a big thank you to all the staff and pupils at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic School for all their help and support.
