Aquinas Sports Day - 18 July 2013

On Thursday 18 July students from Year 7, 8 and 9 along with all staff travelled to Tudor Grange Athletics Stadium in Solihull for the final and most competitive House Competition ‘Sports Day 2013'. The students battled through a track and field programme to complete a great day's athletics, including 100, 200, 300 and 400 metres and discuss, shot, javelin, long jump and triple jump. The final and arguably most exciting event were the relay races, the noise from crowd certainly spurred their house team members on.

A huge thank you should go to all our students and staff who made the day a success, on one of the hottest days of the year. Despite the extremely warm weather the students were extremely enthusiastic in their participation throughout the day, from competing in events to cheering on from the stands. Special thanks to Mr Keegan who did a brilliant job on the public address system!

An enormous thank you to the PE Faculty, for their hard work in preparing and organising another successful Sports Day. Thank you to Mr Houston, Mr Smyllie, Mrs Linehan and most importantly Mrs Yates for all her leadership and coordination for her final Aquinas Sports Day.
