Sports Results - Week Beginning 17 June 2013

Athletics-  On Saturday the 8th June St. Thomas Aquinas were lucky enough to have four students represent South Birmingham in the West Midlands Athletics trials.  Jade Lediard year 7, Matthew Higgins year 7, Donchae Williams year 8 and Turaya Bryan-Tracey year 8.  All athletes competed tremendously on the day and were fantastic ambassadors for the school. A special congratulations goes to Turaya Bryan-Tracey and Donchae Williams for progressing to the Mason Trophy, the next round in the competition-a huge achievement!  Turaya came 3rd in U14 100m, and Donchae 3rd in the 75m hurdles and U15 100m.  We wish them luck and once again congratulate all of our athletes.

The following report was written by Donchae Williams... On Saturday I competed for the English School trials.  I competed in the 75m hurdles in the Junior Category and came 3rd qualifying me to compete in the Mason Trophy.  I then also competed in the 100m in the Junior category and came 3rd, although this meant that I got through to the final,  I was unable to race again on the day due to picking up an injury.  Finally I competed in the high jump and jumped 1.3m.

Rugby- Katie Boot in year 12 is currently excelling in rugby and is about to represent the Midlands in a UK rugby tournament!

Sports photos- A note to parents regarding the sports photos that were taken last week would also be great.  Just to say that they are on the website and how great it is to see the great sporting success of our students.
