Good Shepherd Mass - 11 June 2013

On Tuesday 11June I accompanied Mr Smith and 37 students in Year 7 and 8 to St Chad's Cathedral to attend one of the annual Good Shepherd Masses for Father Hudson's Society. The Mass is a celebration and a thank you to the schools in the area that have raised money for the Society, particularly through their Lenten ‘Good Shepherd Appeal'. The cathedral was full with young people representing Catholic schools in Birmingham.   During the Offertory Procession representatives from all the schools carry banners and their cheques to offer them to Bishop Pargeter, who was celebrating the Mass. We were very proud to hand over a cheque for over £750 as our contribution to the appeal; this money was raised through our non-uniform day in the autumn term.

Once again this year it was our privilege to be asked to do the music for the Mass, with Mr Smith ably leading us. The Mass was a wonderful celebration and our students sang enthusiastically and were a credit to the school. It was a real pleasure to be part of the choir for the Mass. Thank you to all the students involved, to Mr Miastowski and Miss McCann for accompanying us and to Mr Smith for leading us so well.
