Year 6 Parents Forum - 10 June 2013

On Monday evening we held our first evening for the parents and family members of the Year 6 children who will be joining us in September.  The sports hall was packed out with over 200 parents as well as many staff and students from St Thomas Aquinas.  The first part of the evening was a presentation led by Anne Vile, the Chair of the Parents Forum, who shared her experiences and feelings as a parent when her sons moved from primary school to secondary.  She also highlighted the importance of parent and school relationships and the opportunities that are available for parents through the Parents Forum at St Thomas Aquinas School.  This was followed by a short presentation from 3 Year 7 students, Reece Brazier, John Hardy and Wiktoria Bak who spoke superbly about their transition from primary to secondary and the progress that they have made since September.  The evening continued with further discussion on tables about life at St Thomas Aquinas for a Year 7 student and parents had the opportunity to talk and discuss with students and staff. It was a fantastic evening and an opportunity to meet so many Year 6 parents. We look forward to seeing them again on Induction Evening.
