Enrichment Week: Performing Arts and English - 16th July 2012

Year 9 spent the first day of Enrichment Week working with the Performing Arts and English Faculties.

The students watched a series of ‘sporting blunders' in their drama sessions and then created their own comedy drama pieces which had everyone laughing out loud.

In English the students worked in groups and were each given a country to represent as the ‘Best Potential Olympic Country'. Jamaica, the Philippines, Poland, Ireland, Ghana and Portugal were the countries that the students researched and some fantastic pitches were made proving that their country would be an ideal Olympic venue of the future.

We had Irish representatives wearing ‘spud hats' and Jamaicans with hand-made medals and waving Jamaican flags. Poland convinced us all that their Polish cuisine was second to none and the Philippines wowed us with their national anthem.

In Music, National Anthems were created and played for Olympic opening ceremonies.

All of the Year 9 students were impeccably behaved and threw themselves into the activities. Judging by the photographs a fun day was had by all.
