Managing Ecosystems -
This is your final unit of study. It focuses on industry as a system with inputs, processes and outputs. You will need to be able to explain industrial location, environmental impacts of industry and use case studies to add depth to those explanations.
The managing resources unit is split into two. The first half looks at global resources and alternative forms of energy. The second part looks at the impact of tourism on the environment.
The rivers module is split into two. Firstly you will look at river processes and how these shape the land. Secondly, you will examine why flooding happens and how it affects people.
The Settlement Course is taught in Year 10. You will study a wide variety of cities from both MEDCs to LEDCs. You will learn about how cities function and how we can manage some of the problems they create.
This unit looks at Volcanoes, Earthquakes and Volcanoes.
