On Tuesday afternoon, two poetry competition winners were invited to the University of Birmingham to collect anthologies containing their published poems and spend time reading and looking at different forms of poetry. Following a prize giving (and a range of snacks!), the students from schools across the city were given a range of stimulus and helped by University students to hone their writing skills. The event was judged and attended by poet Cliff Yates who shared some of his own work and advice with the students. Congratulations to Jasper Abrina (Martin-3B) and John Bantigue (John Paul-7D) for their excellent poetry and for being a credit to the school on the day. Mrs Simpson
