Catholic Partnership Technology Day |

Last week, four Year 9 Media students and I attended the Catholic Partnership Technology Day. The students got to grips with different kinds of technology including film making, constructing a cartoon and poster skills. All four students acquitted themselves perfectly. They were also able to visit a working environment that included web design and TV production. Thank you to all involved - your behaviour and application were a credit to the school!

South Birmingham Dance Showcase |

On Friday 11 June, 49 Aquinas students from years 7-12 travelled to Shenley Academy to compete in the South Birmingham Dance Showcase. Four schools took part including two primary schools as well as Shenley Academy and Aquinas. The standard of dance was outstanding and every school deserved to qualify for the final dance showcase on Thursday 1 July at the Town Hall in Birmingham.
The performances from the Shenley Boys dance group and the Aquinas dance group were of such a high standard they forced the judges to send both schools through to the Birmingham showcase instead of just one.
All our dancers are really excited about being selected and we would like to thank Kerrey and Siobhan our dance teachers for their fantastic choreography and also Mrs Yates for putting in all her time and effort.

Today, Year 13 celebrated their final Mass together. It was a lovely, reflective occasion with students leading the singing and readings. In true Aquinas tradition, the Mass ended with a trip down ‘memory lane' with Mrs Lockyear recalling the seven years of Year 13's time in Aquinas through a selection of photographs. This was both amusing and emotional. After the year group photograph was taken, the students enjoyed a buffet and reminisced with their teachers over a glass of squash. We wish all of year 13 the very best for their forthcoming exams and their future.
