Dining

The catering facilities at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic School offer a multitude of healthy alternatives for our pupils. Since our designation as a Healthy School in 2007 we have made huge progress in improving the quality of meals we offer to our pupils. There are two main dining areas with one used for sandwiches and the other for school meals. Although the menu changes on a daily basis the options on a typical day include three hot meals, sandwiches, paninis, a salad bar, wraps and jacket potatoes.

To speed up queuing time and provide an all round improved service we now operate a “cashless canteen” whereby finger print identification is used by pupils to pay for their food. Pupils top up their account either through a cheque or by using one of the two machines in the main corridor. Pupils can then spend up to £4 each day on their lunch. There are a number of vending machines which also sell healthy snacks and again these have finger print identification systems.
