Outer Coats - 29 September 2009

Dear Parents

OUTER COATS

As promised in the Friday Letter, I am writing to you on the subject of outer coats.  I am sure you will agree that when you see our pupils in school or at any public event they look very smart.  Many parents tell me they think our pupils look much better in their uniform than do the pupils of other local schools.

If there is a criticism to be made about out uniform it is that some of our pupils do not look smart when they travel to and from school in a wide variety to multi-coloured outer coats.  Following discussion we have decided on  two steps as follows:

1)   Pupils who wear hoodies or hats at any time on the school premises will have them confiscated.

2)   From January all pupils will need to be in a plain black or navy blue outer coat without trimmings or logos.  Pupils who arrive in school without

I am confident that these two simple steps will ensure that our pupils look as smart travelling to and from school as they do during the school day.  The shops are now selling winter wear so I ask parents to bear this step in mind in the period leading up to Christmas.

Thank you, as always, for your support.

With best wishes
