The theme of the Mass was ‘The Feast of the Archangels'. This Mass had been prepared for the Feast Day on 29th September but had to be postponed because of the OFSTED inspection.

 

Every form group took an active part in the Mass, from the opening procession and readings to the moving Reflection. The beautiful display board was decorated with Angels prepared by Year 7 students. During the procession the students brought up their own prayer intentions on which they had identified how they live out God's message and how they can improve what they already do.

 

After the Reflection reading, read by members of FI 4B, Jessica Payne, Bobbi Taylor, Chloe Rae and Mollie Busby performed a beautiful dance to the music of Sarah McLaughlin "In the Arms of an Angel".

 

At the end of the Mass Mr Foley presented a plaque to Mrs Murphy in recognition of the school's 50th anniversary. Two of our year 8 students, Conor Grimes and Jessica Murphy (ex-John Fisher) presented the plaque to the head boy and head girl of the school. Mr Foley also presented flowers to Ms Rodrigues (FI 7D) who is leaving us for a short while on maternity leave.

 

A lot of hard work, planning and rehearsing preceded the Mass. Special thanks go to Father Stefan, all those who took part in the Mass and to the form tutors. Well done to Mr Smith for leading the singing, Mr Mobbs for his technical support, Mrs Yates for choreographing the dance and to our Lay Chaplain, Anne-Marie Tibbits.

 

As Head of House, I am especially proud of all members of Fisher House for the way they conducted themselves before and after the Mass.
