| Cereal Wars - The Great Kindle Relay Project - 18th June 2012 |
|
6 weeks + 6 schools + 1 author x possibilities of new technology = 1 exciting piece of digital storytelling!
A group of talented Year 7s have just joined the ranks of published authors. The ARC was selected as 1 of 6 secondary school libraries to take part in this project in association with Birmingham Central Library. The project is a digital twist on the story relay idea, with one group writing a chapter then passing it on to the next school and so on. To help us write our wonderful chapter 3 and develop the storyline and characters, we had the pleasure of welcoming author Simon Cheshire to school. He took our students' extraordinary ideas and turned them into exciting and funny prose. Who knew that deep down inside every cereal packet lurks an evil Shrederick, or that CocoPups are waging war on Meew-Slees! On Monday we celebrated the launch of the book at the Library Theatre, and were able to meet in person all the other students who had collaborated with us. The book entitled "Cereal Wars" is available to buy from Amazon in hard copy or ebook form. To read all 6 chapters and to learn more about the project go to www.kindlerelay.blogspot.com Mrs Merrick Â
