St James’ Christmas Fair

On Wednesday afternoon, Mr Flood was accompanied by Yr12 students who had volunteered their valuable time to help St James’ with their Christmas Fair.

The nine willing volunteers arrived nearly two hours before the event started to help setup and prepare the different stalls, creating some fine artwork along the way.

Our festive students manned stalls throughout the event with the highlight for many of them was getting their photo taken with Santa at the end.

A big thank you to Sarah Hawkeswood who helped source and prepare the jacket potatoes that went down a treat at the fair.

Below is part of the letter sent from the Sarah Jones, Chair of the Friends of St. James’ to each of our volunteers.

On behalf of The Friends of St James’ I would like to thank you for all your help and support at the fair this afternoon and evening.

Each and every one of you worked hard and helped to create a fabulous, happy and festive atmosphere during the fair for the children and families of St James’ Catholic Primary School.

Thank you for working with our team of parents and for giving of your time and energy as volunteers for the afternoon. I hope you enjoyed your time with us; you are a credit to your selves, your families and your school.

When I first approached some of our sixth form with the idea of helping out at St James, I was staggered by the response of so many willing students and I would like to add my thanks to these wonderful student for all your effort and enthusiasm, thank you.
