Teresa House Mass

On Tuesday 20th September, staff, students and parents came together to celebrate Teresa House Mass.  On the 4th September 2016, Pope Francis canonised St Teresa so this was a perfect opportunity to gather as a House and reflect not only on St Teresa’s life but also on how we can follow her example in our everyday lives.

All forms were represented and took an active part in the Mass, from preparing the readings, leading the opening procession and writing the bidding prayers.  The students also created pledges to show how they could put their faith into action.

In his homily, Father Emmanuel spoke about St Teresa and how she lived a life of service to the poor and challenged everyone present to live out her message.  He reiterated a phase that the students know and told them to greet everyone they meet with a smile as St Teresa said, “Peace begins with a smile.” The mass was a truly special occasion and, as always, Teresa House made me very proud.

A huge thank you to Father Emmanuel, our School Chaplain, who gives up so much of his time to our school community, Anne-Marie who helped to prepare our readers and to Mr Smith who supported our liturgy.

A special thank you must go to the Teresa tutors and support team who ensure daily that students are the best they can be and that they live out St Teresa’s actions.  Thank you to Miss Brooks, Ms Ottabanje, Mr Oldnall, Mrs Righton, Mr Chapman, Mrs Patrick, Mrs Bird, Mr Basharat, Mr Nolan, Mr Martin, Ms O’Reilly and Ms Rodrigues.

Well done to all Teresa House students who make me proud every single day and make my job so enjoyable. This is our year!!!!
