More House Mass

On Friday 3rd October, More House gathered in the main hall for our House mass. As it is October, the month of Mary, our theme was Our Lady. Students and teachers had prepared in their tutor groups, decorating rosary beads and writing prayers. Our displays, put together with the help of Elise Cave and Chloe Parker, reflected the theme.

This mass was a particularly special one as if was the first House mass of the school year. Students from each form participated fully. MO2A and MO6C led the opening procession, in which objects symbolic to our school and to the themes of the mass were presented. Students from MO1A led the first reading, whilst those from MO5C read the responsorial psalm. MO3B led bidding prayers and in particular offered prayers for mothers everywhere and success in the new school year. Finally 6C led the communion reflection. We were pleased to welcome some parents to the mass, as well as our Headteacher Miss Madden who praised the students of More House. A big 'Thank you' to the students who helped prepare the mass and participated in the readings and procession, I was immensely proud of you all. Thanks also to the fantastic team of tutors and to Mr Smith and the choir for providing the music. Last but not least, thanks to Anne-Marie who was a tremendous support in preparing the mass.
